The Complete List of Winners from the 26th MTV Movie Awards
The 26th annual MTV Movie Awards was not its usual event this weekend as it was the first time it combined movie and television categories and removed gendered categories. Beauty and the Beast was the big winner of the night, taking home multiple statues and being the inspiration for the event’s opening number.
MTV is giving their annual entertainment award show two big changes this year. Plus, Jordan Peele’s hit horror film Get Out leads the nominations with six nods.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 89th Academy Awards. Lionsgate’s musical “La La Land” led the pack with a record-tying 14 Oscar nominations, including two for Best Song.
Awards season means two things — Oscars nominations for most of the fall films, and Razzie nominations for most of the summer movies. Sure enough, the nominees for the 37th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards were announced Monday, and it’s a doozy of a lineup, folks!
While the debate continues over whether or not Deadpool will receive any Oscar love, The People’s Choice Awards is happy to show the actioner the love, as the film picked up wins for Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Movie Actor. 
Last night, the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards handed out the top prizes to various categories in film and television, further heating up the awards race. Damien Chazelle’s musical breakout La La Land took top honors for film, while Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley nabbed the highest awards in the television race.
Warner Bros. needed to market the David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad the right way and it started with the all-important first trailer. This was a chance for the studio to give audiences a new impression of the DCEU, but it turned out to be the first stumble on a perilous path of P&A.
Suicide Squad could have been the movie that shifted the DCEU in an amazing direction, but instead, it takes one step forward and two steps back in its progress. It’s an incoherent spectacle but one that’s only moderately disappointing as the movie still manages to deliver an adequate amount of entertainment.
This weekend Fox aired the 18th annual Teen Choice Awards, hosted by John Cena and Victoria Justice. The big winners of the night were actor Dylan O’Brien and recently rebranded Freeform network. 
Warner Bros.’ highly-anticipated bad-guys-turned-heroes comic book movie Suicide Squad opens in theaters in about a week, but it seems as though that they weren’t quite finished with adding characters to its long roster of names. In a last-minute decision, Warner Bros. has decided to add a scene with one key member from the Justice League to the movie.
