I don’t have as much to say about this episode because… it was so fun! Supergirl/Kara must fight against “Indigo”, an alien that exists in the cyber world and has hacked into the entire city in an effort to destroy it and steal a nuclear bomb to blow up National City.

SUPERGIRL REVIEW: “FOR THE GIRL WHO HAS EVERYTHING”

Supergirl_(title_screen)
“For The Girl Who Has Everything” created another simple story with strong emotional impact, but the writers also have finally started trimming the excess plots from the show! It feels like we’re heading into the home stretch of Supergirl‘s inaugural season and may actually be given the strong finish that it deserves.

SUPERGIRL REVIEW: “Bizarro”

Supergirl_(title_screen)
Last week’s episode of Supergirl served up a strong episode but left a lot of strings hanging. Last night in “Bizarro,” this same pattern holds true. These episodes are so fun but it’s only a matter of time before the love triangles, mentors, and secret identities come to a head at the end of the season and who knows how that will fair.

Lovesick Winn finally got some backstory attention in last night’s episode of Supergirl, giving actor Jeremy Jordan some well-earned moments. I feel like I say this every week, but this cast is absolutely superb no matter what they are tasked with playing and Jeremy Jordan does not disappoint.

Supergirl is finally back! Not that it was gone all that long, but after a winter break during which the entire world apparently binged Making A Murderer, I was ready for some fun and action to start the new year–and Supergirl definitely hit the spot.

Supergirl_(title_screen)
One of Supergirl‘s big struggles in the week-to-week plots is that most series point out the lead’s state-of-mind and then send in obstacles to attack it while this show’s writers are still figuring out the right approach to this. Thankfully, now that the series has received a full season order they will have plenty of time to figure it out.

Supergirl_(title_screen)
“How Does She Do It” centers on Kara working with the DEO to find out where and why multiple explosives are being set off around the city, while simultaneously attempting to babysit her boss’s son. As always, there’s a great deal of potential, and Supergirl is close–very close–to figuring out its formula.

Supergirl Review: “Livewire”

Supergirl_(title_screen)
Supergirl deals with mothers, daughters, and electricity-throwing super villains over Thanksgiving dinner. “Livewire” actually had a stronger story arc than the previous three episodes and was much more in line with the format that Berlanti’s crew has nailed over on The Flash.

There were just so many things that were dropped after building up in the first two episodes and even more things introduced, you almost want the writers to slow down and just focus on the “fight of the week,” because right now the weekly villain is the last thing anyone cares about as all anyone could talk about in last night’s episode was Superman.
