The Italian filmmaker who first received international attention for 2010’s I Am Love with Tilda Swinton, tackles André Aciman’s novel, working from a script by James Ivory.
It will be Yorke’s first time scoring a feature film, and it’s possible he was encouraged to give it a shot by bandmate Jonny Greenwood, who scored Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood and is currently working on the Joaquin Phoenix movie You Were Never Really Here.
The remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria just took a huge step forward with the casting of Chloe Grace Moretz in the starring role. She will join Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, and Mia Goth in the retelling of the horror classic.
When Green abandoned the project, he announced that it would be moving forward with an unnamed Italian director. It appears that Guadagnino was the artist in question and the I Am Love director, who at one time was producing Green’s version, has confirmed his involvement.
