Season 5, Episode 10 – Beverly fights to be the cool family that wins all the holidays and Pops tries to help Barry make his comeback at the school talent show.
Season 4, Episode 24 – The Goldbergs finally put a graduation cap on Erica’s head in “Graduation Day.” With everything seemingly changing for the Goldberg family, everyone is having a hard time dealing with something new and different.
ABC is bringing back TGIF, but not with the kinds of multi-cam sitcoms that defined it in the 90s, but with family-friendly dramas. With Once Upon a Time resetting for its seventh season, where it will have a creative reset, and will move from Sundays to Friday where it will be the lead in for Marvel’s Inhumans.
Season 4, Episode 23 – The Goldbergs tackle sibling disputes in “Jedi Master Adam Skywalker.” Adam takes on responsibility helping create the yearbook and Erica and Barry find themselves at his mercy when they decide they need to know who won “Cutest Couple.”
Season 4, Episode 22 – The Goldbergs reminds us that the Cold War and threat of a nuclear fallout was a real thing in “The Day After The Day After.” With Mother’s Day around the corner as well, Adam and Erica both try to take advantage of Beverly’s love of the holiday to get what they want.
Season 4, Episode 21 – The Goldbergs delivers its funniest episode as of yet this season in “Fonzie Scheme.” With Erica heading off to college soon, the boys must find a way to get themselves out of trouble without her, and Murray looks for a hobby at Beverly’s request.
Season 4, Episode 20 – The Goldbergs puts the focus on the family in “The Dynamic Duo.” With lots of Batman references and a classic over-confident fumble, the episode provided plenty of entertainment, but was light on the laughs.
Season 4, Episode 19 – The Goldbergs proves yet again that the show still packs a humorous punchline in “A Night to Remember.” With several laugh-out-loud moments involving absurd character traits, the show continues to build strength in its humor as the season begins to wind down.
Season 4, Episode 18 – The Goldbergs addresses colleges and the future of relationships in “Baré.” With some solid Barry and Beverly humor, this week’s episode is laugh-out-loud.
Season 4, Episode 17 – The Goldbergs takes on the swear jar in “Deadheads.” With a few funny bits, but mostly just censored swearing, the show loses some of the humorous sheen it had polished up in the last few episodes.
Season 4, Episode 16 – The Goldbergs puts a karate-chopped spin on the Karate Kid in “Kara-te Kid.” With a lot of spoof set-up, the episode is sparse on punches, but it delivers a nice kick.
Season 4, Episode 15 – The Goldbergs adds another installment to the Erica/Geoff love story in “So Swayze It’s Crazy.” With three strong storylines, the jokes are good, but finding the answer to the whether or not Erica and Geoff get together is better.
Season 4, Episode 14 – The Goldbergs doubles down on its usual self depricating and ironic humor in “The Spencer’s Gift.” With a few laugh-out-loud funny moments, the episode is one of the strongest yet this season.
Season 4, Episode 13 – It’s Valentine’s Day, which is thankfully the catalyst it took to finally shake Erica, pining over Geoff, out of her season-long depression. Adam deals with his own relationship problems, as he fears he’s losing his best friend Chad.
Season 4, Episode 12 – The Goldbergs does its very Goldberg-y best in “Snow Day.” With simple but entertaining storylines, the episode is well done in its execution, but not overtly exciting.
Season 4, Episode 11 – The Goldbergs tackles sexism and science in “O Captain! My Captain!.” With what feels like a thinly veiled commentary on how women’s bodies are constantly scrutinized, the episode pays homage to many classic sitcoms in its effort to tackle a topical issue in a funny way.
