TOP OF THE LAKE

Logline: On the day of his forced retirement in 1888 New Zealand, a police inspector reexamines the biggest failure of his lengthy career – a series of gruesome murders committed by a notoriously elusive gang.

Season 2, Episodes 5-6 – In the final two episodes of Top of the Lake: China Girl, Griffin comes close to losing her daughter, as the disgruntled former lover of Cinnamon takes her hostage. Can Griffin find Mary and rescue her before it’s too late?

Season 2, Episodes 3-4 – While Griffin attempts to connect with her estranged daughter on Top of the Lake: China Girl, all roads lead to Mary’s boyfriend Alexander being involved with the murder. Can Griffin save her daughter before this manipulative man ruins Mary’s life?

Season 2, Episodes 1-2 – Jane Campion and Elisabeth Moss team up once again for Top of the Lake: China Girl, relocating Robin Griffin to the police squad in Sydney, Australia. Life has not been particularly kind to Griffin since we’ve last seen her, so she buries herself in a new case after a dead Asian woman is found in a suitcase washed up on shore.

After a flurry of rumors, BBC has confirmed that Nicole Kidman will join Elisabeth Moss for the second season of Top of the Lake.
