Now that the festival’s biggest purchase has been made, things are starting to get a little quieter at Sundance — but that doesn’t mean films aren’t getting snatched up by studios. Acquisitions are still being made on some of the festival’s most buzzed about titles and the first round of awards have been handed out for short filmmaking.

Logline: An old married couple’s relationship is strained when one of them loses his job, forcing them to move in with their separate families.

Logline: Centers on Elvis Presley, who wrote Richard Nixon a six-page letter requesting a visit with the President and suggesting that he be made a “Federal Agent-at-Large” in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

Logline: A black comedy about a greedy Texas family that plots the death of their matriarch for the insurance money, but when they find themselves unable to do the deed, they look to hire “Killer Joe” Cooper, a cop who also happens to be a contract killer on the side.
