THOR: RAGNORAK got a surprise attachment today. Taika Waititi is currently in negotiations to direct the phase 3 film for the thunder god. Kevin Feige is producing and the script is from Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost.
Waititi is probably best known for his hilarious mockumentary, What We Do in the Shadows, which follows a group of vampires in New Zealand that share a house. He is also responsible for writing the currently filming Moana for Disney, which centers on a Polynesian sailor who uses her navigational prowess to find a mysterious island in the South Pacific with the demi-god Maui.
The current cast shows Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Jaime Alexander’s Sif returning with Chris Hemsworth. Marvel has set a release date for July 28th, 2017.
Waititi is repped by CAA and Manage-ment.
