HYPERBARIC has just sold to Voltage Pictures. The film, written by Dominic Morgan & Matt Harvey was one of our Launch Pad finalists in our 2013 Launch Pad Feature Competition. This sale now marks the fourth project sold in two months coming out of our contest, following “Tranquility Base” which sold to Fox, with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free producing, “A Seat in Hell” which sold to Dark Factory Entertainment, and “Butcher Holler“, which just last week sold to Under The Stairs Entertainment.
Hyperbaric, which is moving quickly is now prepping to go out to directors, as the writers Morgan and Harvey, both hailing from the U.K. are prepping meetings all over town in the next few weeks to pitch their follow up projects.
Voltage’s most recent projects include JGL’s “Don Jon” and the Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo-starring “Thanks For Sharing”, and Oscar Winning Best Picture “The Hurt Locker”. Their upcoming slate includes the soon to be released “Dallas Buyers Club” and “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman”.
Weaver, who has been on fire this year, is currently in pre-production on the Liam Neeson-starring “Run All Night”, has the Christian Bale thriller “Out of the Furnace” awaiting release and just this Summer set up the most sought after TV project of 2013 – “Extant” with CBS alongside Steven Spielberg.
Shaink, who most recently set up “Tranquility Base” with Weaver and Ridley Scott, currently has the JJ Abrams and Joss Whedon-starring documentary “Showrunners”, the Glen-Powell & Erik Stocklin starring “The Bad Guys” and the thriller “Reversal” all awaiting release.
Gaulding, who has over a decade of solid studio experience as an executive at Screen Gems and Relativity, most recently EP’d the Josh Duhamel project “Safe Haven”.
These past two months have been beyond amazing for our Launch Pad finalists, and with Morgan & Harvey making their trek to LA next week, we have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more of their names very soon.
Congrats all around!
