〉Mike De Luca is attached to produce the children’s adventure story
Award-winning children’s author Adrienne Kress is out with her latest: THE EXPLORERS CLUB, which tells the story of Sebastian, a careful boy who teams up with the risk-taking Evie in search of her grandfather who’s being held as ransom for a map leading to the fountain of youth. The two set out to reunite her grandfather’s old explorer team, the Filipendulous Five, in order to find him.
The Explorers Club is the first in a three book deal with Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House, and will be published Fall 2016. Michael De Luca is producing The Explorers Club on behalf of his Michael De Luca Productions.
The project is currently being shopped to territories, much like Kress’s earlier children’s books Alex and the Ironic Gentleman and Timothy and the Dragon’s Gate.
The Weinstein Company owns the rights to Alex, which won the Heart of Hawick Children’s Book Award in the UK and was shortlisted for the Red Cedar. Timothy was also shortlisted for the Red Cedar and optioned along with its predecessor.
