Doug Liman and his production company Hypnotic have put into development the sci-fi thriller THE TOWER from writers Julina Tatlock and Max Tedaldi. The project, which is being pitched as being tonally in the vein of “The Hunger Games,” centers on a group that must compete in a life or death obstacle course in order to join a coveted PSI-Ops program.
Tatlock and Tedaldi didn’t have to go too far to get the project into Liman’s hands, as Tatlock serves alongside Liman as a co-founder of the interactive media site 30 Ninjas, where Tedaldi also serves as a writer and producer. The duo, who are also Emmy-nominated for their work on an interactive episode of “Psych,” have also worked on interactive projects for the hit series “Suits,” as well as Liman’s upcoming Tom Cruise & Emily Blunt starrer “Edge of Tomorrow.
Hypnotic, meanwhile is in active development on the planned feature adaptation of the hit video game franchise “Splinter Cell,” the planned Starz rom/com series “Heartbeats” as well as the time travel cop drama “Time to Time” for NBC.
