and are auctioning the film rights to ’s three-book series TIMELESS, which he recently sold to HarperCollins for publication. The series follows a boy and his friends, who team up to rescue his father from a Roman general after a “time collision” eliminates the barriers between past, present, and future. It’s been described as in the veins of Avatar and Harry Potter, with franchise elements. , which is owned by the same parent company as HarperCollins, has a preemptive first look, and we hear Fox-based (and his Productions) and Steve Tzirlin are in the mix.

Baltazar, a former artist for Pixar and Dreamworks, has worked on BraveCars 2The Princess and the Frog, and The Road to El DoradoTimeless has been pitched as an art-heavy series similar visually to The Invention of Hugo Cabret, and with Baltazar’s experience in cinematic art, it’s easy to see how that could make for a visually stunning movie.

Energy is headed by manager- Brooklyn Weaver, whose production credits are substantial, especially recently. He’s an executive alongside Steven Spielberg on CBS’ Extant, starring Halle Berry, and his upcoming projects include the WB crime thriller Run All Night, which stars Liam Neeson, Ed Harris, and Joel Kinnaman, produced by Roy Lee and Weaver.

As I mentioned yesterday, properties like this are some of the most original content coming into Hollywood these days. Timeless looks like it could be a blast, be it in book or movie form–or, as seems likely here, in both at about the same time.
