According to sources, Jane Goldman is in final talks to rewrite the REBECCA remake for Dreamworks and Working Title Films. The project, based on the novel and Hitchcock’s 1940 film version, follows a woman who marries a widower, but as his servants become more hostile, the newlywed grows more fearful, until she eventually learns the secret of what really happened to his first wife.
Goldman would be reworking an original draft by Stephen Knight.
Goldman is best known for co-writing “Kick-Ass” and adapting “The Woman in Black.” She’s also attached to write “Secret Service.”
She is repped by WME.
