〉Bridges will star opposite Miles Teller in Fox Searchlight’s drama.
Jeff Bridges has been tapped to star alongside Miles Teller in ONLY LIVING BOY. Formally known as The Only Living Boy In New York, the project follows a college graduate who finds himself seduced by his father’s 30-year-old mistress after attempting to save his parents’ deteriorating relationship.
Teller was previously reported to be only in talks, but I can now confirm that the actor is set to star as Thomas Webb, a disillusioned young man raised in the NY elite, who strives to be anything but. Bridges will star as W.F. Gerald, Thomas’s intelligent, artistic neighbor who encourages him to chase risks and get the most out of life.
Marc Webb will direct from a screenplay that he wrote with Allen Loeb. Fox Searchlight and Bona Fide Productions will produce the drama.
The project was featured on the 2005 Black List and was previously in development at Columbia Pictures, with Logan Lerman attached to star. Seth Gordon was previously attached to direct.
Bridges was just yesterday announced to star in another NY-set drama, The Emperor’s Children. For the past few years, Bridges has primarily stayed away from dramatic work, opting instead for roles in the fantasy and sci-fi genres. He most recently appeared in The Giver, RIPD, and the YA fantasy Seventh Son, which is currently in theaters.
The Oscar-winner will next lend his voice to the animated fantasy The Little Prince.
