From the pen of scribe Brad Desch, the film follows a famous New York novelist raising his daughter as a single father and how their dynamics and relationships change as she grows into an adult. Hamm has the role of the novelist, Jake Davis. If she joins the film, Adams would play Katie Davis, the (most assuredly) older version of his daughter.
Sheryl Clarke and Jessica Green will produce.
Hamm, best known as “Mad Men’s” Don Draper, most recently starred on the silver screen alongside real-life girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt who starred and made her directing debut. Next up for the actor is the fact-based sports drama “The Million Dollar Arm”. He is repped by Forward Entertainment.
A two-time Oscar nominee for her roles in “Doubt” and “The Fighter”, Adams recently starred in this year’s acclaimed film “The Master” as well as in “Trouble With the Curve” and “On The Road”. She is repped by WME and will next be seen in Zack Snyder’s Superman pic “Man of Steel”.
