〉The pre-apocalyptic action thriller has locked a director
Paramount is now moving forward with its end-of-days action thriller, HELL BENT, having signed Swedish horror director Mikael Håfström to helm the project. Håfström is best known for helming 1408, the Anthony Hopkins starrer The Rite, and most recently, the Sylvester Stallone/Arnold Schwarzenegger action pic Escape Plan.
The film, last scripted by Mike Finch, follows a group of mercenaries after they are killed in a Brazilian jail. Since they are criminals, they end up in hell where a priest wishes to use their skills in order to destroy Lucifer before he can return to Earth and bring about the apocalypse. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing for Di Bonaventura Productions, with Justin Silvera executive producing.
No cast is set yet for this picture, but I’m sure that some action favorites will be floating around the rumor mill for what sounds like a great supernatural/action flick.
Håfström is repped by WME and Management 360
