The music-oriented stoner comedy KRINKLE POWER (a reference to the band Primus) from writers Harris Wittels & Armen Weitzman has made the move to low-budget banner Paramount Insurge. The project, which Scott Rudin is still set to produce, centers on a regroup of five 20-something stoners who reunite at a music festival to see their favorite band. Primus, pot, comedyR30; these things almost write themselves. But just in case it doesn’t, we have Wittels, who has previously written for “Eastbound & Down”, “Parks and Recreation” and the upcoming Aziz Ansari-starrer “Olympic Sized Asshole” as one half of the writing team, which also includes Weitzman, a frequent TV star who has popped up in everything from “Children’s Hospital”, “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous” and “NTSF:SD:SUV”. These guys literally live and breathe comedy.
With the move to Insurge, the project gets a nice second life revival beyond it’s original set up date in the mid-2000s as the studio begins their hunt for a director.

Wittels is repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
