In addition to transforming into a go-to resource for all things Hollywood, we’ve become an even more sought after source for undiscovered talent. Since launching our TB Recommends and Launch Pad Competition, the impact of these platforms have been staggering.

TB RECOMMENDS
Dan Dollar — “The Boy and His Tiger”
Dan Dollar was a TB Recommends writer for his spec “The Boy and His Tiger”, which quickly became a hot commodity. Soon after he picked up a manager, Michael Botti at Industry Entertainment, he was then signed by CAA where he is represented by Jon Cassir and Alexandra Trustman. Dan was also nominated as a member of the 2013 Young & Hungry List, and his script appeared on the 2013 Hit List and the 2013 Black List. This script is now set up at Warner Brothers with Leonardo DiCaprio, Roy Lee and Rock Shaink producing.
Michael Perri — “Nexxus” (Pilot)
Michael Perri became a TB Recommends writer for his pilot “Nexxus” and shortly was featured on the 2012 Young & Hungry List. On his way to signing with reps Matthew Horwitz and Amotz Zakai at Echo Lake Management his TB Recommended script earned him spots in both the National Hispanic Media Coalition Television Writers Program, the NBC’s Writers on the Verge Fellowship, and the ABC TV fellowship.
Erik W. Van Der Wolf — “Marrow”
“Marrow”, written by Erik W. Van Der Wolf, was a TB Recommends script that led to him being signed by Kathy Muraviov of The Muraviov Company. Later that year he was featured in the 2012 Young & Hungry List and “Marrow” sold to Train Bridge Films.
Mukilan Thangamani (story by Mukilan Thangamani & Ali Asgar Millwala) — “Divorce Party!”
Mukilan Thangamani was a TB Recommends writer in 2012 for his spec “Divorce Party” and that same year was featured on the Young & Hungry List. Immediately following his recommend he was swarmed with offers for his script, which would go on to sell a month later to Enderby Entertainment.
Eric M. Brown — “Hemingway Boy”
Eric M. Brown was a TB Recommends writer for his spec “Hemingway Boy” and was then picked up for representation by Station3, where he signed with Tom Carter, as well as CAA.
Shane Joseph Willis — “Anonymity”
Shane Joseph Willis’ script “Anonymity” garnered him a TB Recommends in early 2013. Following his recommendation, Rosa Entertainment manager Sidney Sherman signed him, and found a home for his script, selling it just a few months before Shane was featured on the 2013 Young & Hungry List, and again in the 2013 Hit List.
Brian Michael Scully — “Counterpoint”
Brian Michael Scully was signed by Kathy Muraviov of The Muraviov Company. After being featured as a TB Recommends writer, “Counterpoint” was setup, and in that same year he went on to be a part of both the Young & Hungry List and The Hit List.
THE LAUNCH PAD COMPETITION
Kate Trefry — “Pure O”
Kate Trefry was the winner of the 2013 Launch Pad Competition for her script “Pure O” and has since gone on to be signed by Lee Stobby at Caliber Media Co along with Amanda Hymson, Keya Khayatian and Tim Phillips at UTA. “Pure O” is currently on the market and has landed Kate a spot on the 2013 Young & Hungry List, a top 10 spot on the 2013 The Hit List, and a nod on the 2013 Black List.
Daniel Turkewitz — “Tranquility Base”
Daniel Turkewitz reached the top 10 of the 2013 Launch Pad Competition and was immediately signed by Brooklyn Weaver at Energy Entertainment and David Saunders at APA. His Launch Pad script “Tranquility Base” then sold to Twentieth Century Fox and Scott Free Productions for Ridley Scott to tackle. Daniel was featured on the 2013 Young & Hungry List, and earned a top 10 spot on the 2013 Hit List.
Sam Celia — “A Seat in Hell”
Sam Celia was a semifinalist in the 2013 Launch Pad Competition and he sold his spec “A Seat in Hell” to Dark Factory Entertainment where it is currently in development and being prepped for a 2014 start date.
Matthew James McDonough — “The Third Wheel”
Matthew James McDonough’s script “The Third Wheel” reached the top 3 of the 2013 Launch Pad Competition and the spec is currently gearing up to hit the market. He was the first writer signed from the contest, as managers Will Rowbotham and Adam S. Marshall brought him into the Caliber Media Co. fold. He followed this up by earning a spot on the 2013 Young & Hungry List.
Matthew Harvey & Dominic Morgan — “Hyperbaric”
Matthew Harvey & Dominic Morgan reached the top 10 of the 2013 Launch Pad Competition and signed with judge Brooklyn Weaver at Energy Entertainment before the final contest results were even announced. They then signed with David Saunders at APA, and sold their Launch Pad featured script “Hyperbaric” to Voltage Pictures.
Dan Shea — “Butcher Holler”
Dan Shea’s “Butcher Holler” was a semifinalist in the 2013 Launch Pad Competition and has since been picked up by Under the Stairs Entertainment.
John Kelley & John Suetmeier — “Sterling”
John Kelley & John Suetmeier were semifinalists in the 2013 Launch Pad Competition. Their script “Sterling” also advanced to the quarterfinals of the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards. Kelley has since been hired to rewrite “Jayse’s Challenges” which is currently in production and they optioned their new spec “Lacheln” to Rockaway Film Partners.
Eugene Ramos — “Newton’s Law of Emotion”
Eugene Ramos’ spec “Newton’s Law of Emotion” was a semifinalist in the 2013 Launch Pad Competition. The script also won the inaugural TFI Sloan Filmmaker Prize and was awarded a development grant. Beyond that, the script advanced to the finals of the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, the quarterfinals of the Nicholl Fellowship and was awarded First Runner Up by the Creative World Awards for the Comedy division.
Blake Armstrong — “Fallman”
Blake Armstrong was a semifinalist in the 2013 Launch Pad Competition and has gone on to be repped by Jorge Gonzalez III at Station3.
Dennis Luu — “Run”
Dennis Luu’s non-stop action script “Run” managed to get him into the top ten of our Launch Pad Competition and has also landed him representation from Jeff Ross at Jeff Ross Entertainment.
Alex Carl — “Fascination 127”
Alex Carl got his script into the semi-finals of the Launch Pad Competition and now has set up “Fascination 127” with Altered.LA & Punch Media.
