Set in downtown New York in 1900, “The Knick” is centered on the Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff who work there, pushing the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.

Cinemax has just delivered its new trailer for the hotly anticipated period/medical drama “Th Knick.” The 10-episode series, which we featured earlier this month on our “Freshman Summer Premieres We’re Excited About” feature, will be directed by powerhouse Steven Soderbergh (“Ocean’s 11,” “Traffic”) and stars Clive Owen (“Children of Men”). Keep an eye out for some stunning visuals and a whole lot of potential medical malpractice.
