Ted Melfi is in talks to helm the remake of GOING IN STYLE that he wrote for New Line Cinema. The story follows a group of retired, bored, senior citizens who decide to rob a bank. If Variety’s earlier URL snafu is an accidental tipping of the hand than Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin and Michael Caine are also circling the leads. We’ll see soon enough.
Don Scardino was in talks to direct for a while but a deal wasn’t met and New Line lucked out that Melfi found himself free again. Producing will be Donald De Line and Tony Bill.
Melfi just finished post on his directorial debut “St. Vincent De Van Nuys” and is also attached to direct “The Tender Bar” which he will also write.
He is repped by UTA.
