Televisa USA has bought the rights to Anne Rice’s bestselling series THE SLEEPING BEAUTY. The erotic novels center on a young princess who awakes from a long sleep in a more adult way than in the traditional fairytale. The book series, which feature detailed sex scenes, remain among the top selling underground erotica, only to be surpassed by “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Rice will executive produce alongside Rachel Winter, Charlie Corwin and Jessica Matthews. The project is going out to writers and possible cast.
Televisa USA is known for sexy drama “Devious Maids,” which airs on Lifetime, as well as upcoming ABC Family drama “Chasing Life,” which centers on a young woman whose life is changed completely after she’s diagnosed with cancer.
