Owen Wilson and Ed Helms play brothers who have never met their father in BASTARDS, and J.K. Simmons and Terry Bradshaw have signed on to play two possible paternal candidates. Warner Bros. is releasing the film with Alcon, and Montecito Picture Company’s Ivan Reitman, Tom Pollock and Ali Bell will be producing along with Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove from Alcon. Lawrence Sher is directing Justin Malen’s 2011 Blacklist script.
The film is about two brothers who were led to believe that their father died when they were little. When their mother reveals that the father is still alive, the brothers go on a road trip to find him, learning unexpected details of their mother’s past in the process. Bradshaw (who will be playing himself in the film) and Simmons are playing former lovers of the mother during the period in which the brothers could have been conceived.
Simmons is represented by the Gersh Agency.
Bradshaw is repped by WME.
