Oscar-nominated screenwriter EMILY V. GORDON is set to adapt Cynthia D’ Aprix Sweeney’s bestselling novel THE NEST for Amazon’s film Studio, The Tracking Board has confirmed. This will reteam Gordon with Amazon, who co-distributed The Big Sick with Lionsgate.
The novel centers in New York on the dysfunctional Plumb family, whose years of tension reach a breaking point as Melody, Beatrice, and Jack Plumb confront their reckless older brother, Leo who was recently released from rehab. Leo was sent to rehabilitation after being inebriated and getting behind the wheel of a car with a 19-year old waitress as his passenger. The incident endangered the Plumbs’ joint trust fund, also known as “The Nest” which they are months away from receiving.
Gordon is represented by UTA. D’Aprix Sweeney is represented by WME.
