The Complete Lineup Of The 2016 Shanghai International Film Festival



The Shanghai International Festival is set to begin this month and has announced a wide variety of films in this year’s lineup. Among the titles are Werner Herzog’s Salt and Fire and Chinese rocker Cao Baoping’s Coke And Bull. Emir Kusturica will lead the jury which also includes Atom Egoyan, Daniele Luchetti, Pema Tseden, Karena Lam, Abderrahmane Sissako, and Yan Geling.

In honor of the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, films related to the bard will run through the festival and actor Ian McKellan will be on hand for a discussion of his 1995 Richard III. Other tribute selections include movies from James Bond, all eight Harry Potter films, and for a second year the “Jackie Chan Action Movie Week.”

The festival runs June 11 to June 19, 2016.
