The Venice Film Festival recently concluded on Saturday and some of the best-reviewed films of the festival went home with big prizes, including Tom Ford’s second directorial outing with Nocturnal Animals (read our review here) and Damien Chazelle’s La La Land. The winners reaffirmed a lot of the awards chatter that has been getting louder and louder in the past couple of weeks, from Jackie, a look at Jacqueline Kennedy as played by Natalie Portman in the period after John F. Kennedy’s assassination, to The Woman Who Left from Laz Diaz.
