On Friday, January 29th, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Arts announced the winners of its 5th annual International Awards. With five nominations including for Best , The Weinstein Company’s Carol led the pack, landing a nod in essentially every category for which it was eligible. Close behind, Paramount’s The Big Short landed four nominations. Warner Bros’ Mad Max: Fury Road, Fox’s The Revenant, and Fox’s The Martian each earned three nods, but Open Road Films’ Spotlight rounded out the nominees for Best over The Martian.
