The demonic nun in James Wan’s The Conjuring 2 has scared enough people to warrant a spin-off.
Following in the footsteps of The Conjuring demonic doll spin-off Annabelle, New Line is developing THE NUN, based on the character that terrorized Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson’s characters in the sequel. Conjuring 2 continues the real-life experiences of demonolgists Ed and Lorraine Warren and how they traveled to London to help a single mother and her children living in a house tormented by an evil entity.
Details about the movie are being kept under wraps, but David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote The Conjuring 2 with Chad and Carey Hayes, will pen the script. Wan will serve as a producer alongside Peter Safran.
The news comes shortly after the box office success of The Conjuring 2. The horror follow-up earned nearly $100 million worldwide in the first three days of release.
