The CW is developing PARADISE LOST, from CBS TV Studios and Sleepy Hollow alum Joey Falco.
The story is a quirky murder mystery with magical realism overtones in which the secretive, sinful and spiritual lives of a community’s residents are exposed.
Falco is writing the pilot, while Michael London, Brad Silberling, Amy Brenneman will serve as executive producers.
The CW is leaning into female-centric series this development cycle, developing a Roswell reboot, as well as Black Rose Anthology, an all-female written and directed horror anthology series from Drew Barrymore, The She Word, about gender discrimination in the workplace, The Valiant, a historical drama about female gladiators as well as Wayward Sisters, a spinoff of the long-running Supernatural.
The network is also developing an untitled drama about a blind “witness” to a murder from writer Corinne Kingsbury, Souther soap Prohibited from Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, dramedy Make Divya Great Again from writer Devanshi Patel, Illegal from executive producer Gina Rodriguez, time-travel drama Hold Fast and an untitled football drama from Greg Berlanti and more.
Falco got his start as a writer on Heroes Reborn and served as a story editor on the fourth and final season of Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, which ended earlier this year.
