Universal has picked to write the next draft of their adaptation of Andrew Pyper’s novel DEMONOLOGISTS.

The film centers on a college professor specializing in demonic literature who accepts a free trip to Italy. Once there, his daughter is apparently killed by a demon and he must set out to try to bring her back to life. Robert Schenkkan wrote a previous draft.

Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey will produce.

Herman wrote the script for the remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” and is also writing an untitled thriller for Mark Wahlberg.
