Comic-Con: “The Gifted” Trailer Teases an Exciting Mutant Origin Tale (Video)


unveiled an extended trailer for its new Marvel series at the show’s Comic Con panel on Friday.

The show, set in ’s X-Men universe, follows the Strucker family, who’s forced into hiding when the two teenage Strucker kids’ mutant powers suddenly manifest themselves.

Expanding on previously released trailers, the new footage introduces all the main characters and their various powers, including our first good look at Polaris (Amy Dumont), the daughter of Magneto.

As for whether The Gifted will cross over with ’s cinematic universe, showrunner Matt Nix shot that idea down, saying, “One of the great favors that Days of Future Past did for all of us is establish many streams, I guess that one answer is that this is one of those many streams.”

Lauren Shuler Donner also confirmed The Gifted would not cross over with FX’s Legion, which is also set in the cinematic universe but is not only in a totally different time period, but on some other kind of wavelength altogether.
