Gregory Hoblit is set to direct THE GOOD SAMARITAN for Atmosphere Entertainment, Voltage Pictures, and Sentinel Pictures. The thriller, written by Matthew Cirulnick, centers on a married couple rekindling their love on a yacht world tour who save a dying man in the South China Sea and are chased by modern-day pirates. Mark Canton, Nicolas Chartier, Adam Brawer, and Zev Foreman will produce, with David Hopwood executive producing.
Hoblit is primarily known for his work in TV, having directed and produced hits like Hill Street Blues, LA Law, and NYPD Blue. On the film side, Hoblit has been at the helm of crime dramas like Primal Fear, Frequency, and Fracture, as well as the war drama Hart’s War. Most recently, he directed an episode of the FX period drama The Americans.
