Dan Sterling has boarded the Fox sitcom THE LAST MAN ON EARTH as the showrunner for the second season. The series was created by and stars Will Forte, who also served as the showrunner for the first season. The series is executive produced by The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
The story follows the hilarious trials and tribulations of a man who got the short end of the stick before the apocalypse, and can’t help but to dig himself into an even deeper hole after. The first season came to a close this past weekend. See our review of the finale here. Sterling is also expected to write some of the upcoming episodes. Fox renewed the series for a second season two weeks ago, and set the gears into motion for the show to be re-crafted for its return.
Sterling has written the comedy The Interview starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. He is currently in development on a multi-camera sitcom that was developed with Lord and Miller. He was previously the showrunner of the Comedy Central series The Sarah Silverman Program.
Sterling is repped by UTA.
