The film, which also stars Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall and Vincent D’Onofrio, centers on a man (Downey Jr.) who escaped the grips of his forgettable small town to become a highly successful, yet arrogant attorney, who upon returning home for a “quick” visit discovers that his mother is suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s, and his father, who is being charged with murder, may or may not have killed someone. Now, he must begin the most excruciating and humiliating experience of his life… something that for better or worse will be the most honest, and enlightening thing he’s ever done.
Farmiga will play a waitress from Downey’s hometown.
Downey Jr. will produce with Greg Garthe, David Dobkin, Susan Downey and Jeff Kleeman.
After starring in the 2012 films “Goats” and “Safe House”, Farmiga will next appear in the horror pic “The Conjuring” alongside Patrick Wilson and Ron Livingston, as well as the rom-com “Middleton”.
She is repped by CAA.
