LPMC 2016 Winners Announced 620x310

The idea of our inaugural Launch Pad Manuscript Competition began in the middle of 2015. Always doing our best to stay ahead of the curve we introduced a competition designed to bridge the literary world with Hollywood. What started as a series of conversations with our team, agents, managers, authors, publishers, and executives evolved into a number of exclusive partnerships with Ridley Scott and his Scott Free productions, fast-rising publisher Inkshares, manager Brooklyn Weaver and his Energy Entertainment. With these partners in place, we knew we had guaranteed opportunities for our writers to launch their careers, expand their portfolios, publish their work, and cross over into Hollywood.

From there, and as we’ve done with our screenwriting competitions, we also wanted to bring in a talented and accomplished group of mentors who can be there to assist our writers as they forge their own careers. Part education, part motivational, part sounding board, we invited three exceptionally talented award-winning writers who have not only conquered the publishing world, but who themselves have experience in Hollywood. Enter best-selling authors Alexandra Monir, Armand Baltazar, and Mike Mongo.

Now with a team in place, all we needed were talented writers excited to launch their careers across both platforms … and wow, you guys delivered immensely.

With more than 1,000 entries from over 24 different countries, featuring first-time writers and New York Times best-selling authors, and covering every genre under the Sun… even mash-ups we’d never had expected, the creativity, the originality, the excitement and the passion in the work was nothing short of astonishing. And that’s not just from us, that’s from every judge who had to painstakingly try to choose a smaller number each round of finalists, that’s from our partners, who each only committed to working with one writer or one project, each ended up selecting multiple writers, and that’s from our conversations with industry members, each discovering new works they fell in love with.

So, now as the official winners are announced for our first ever manuscript competition, and the real work and reads around town truly begin, we’re incredibly proud to announce our Overall Winner, our Top Comedy Winner, our Top Drama Winner, the not one, but TWO Ridley Scott / Scott Free Winners, the Energy Entertainment Winner, and the three Launch Pad Mentorship Winners (two of whom you’re seeing for the first time), and we will announce the Inkshares / Launch Pad publishing winners on December 16th… so stay tuned!

So, without further ado, we are incredibly excited to announce the winners of our inaugural Launch Pad Manuscript Competition.
