“The Lost Boys” TV Adaptation In Development At The CW



The CW is continuing their love for vampires, teens, and drama with an adaptation of the 1987 Warner Bros. cult classic THE LOST BOYS. Veronica Mars maestro is set to develop the series with the network.

Thomas will write the version of the horror pic which originally starred Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Dianne Wiest as well as ’80s movie staples Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. The movie followed Michael (Patric) as he and his family move to the beachy town of Santa Clara where he befriends a group of motorcycle-riding, leather-clad boho punks who turn out to be vampires.

The series will take a different approach to the material. Slated for seven seasons, the series will span 70 years, with each season being a decade. Season one will start in San Francisco in 1967 during the Summer of Love. Each season will take place in a different setting and have different human characters, but the vampires will stay the same.

Thomas will serve as executive under his Spondoolie Productions banner. Danielle Stokdyk, Dan Etheridge will also exec produce alongside Mike Karz and Bill Bindley of Gulfstream .

In addition to Veronica Mars, Thomas is the executive of iZombie. His previous credits include Party DownCupid, and the reboot of 90210.
