Final Verdict

CBS is the one network where quality of pilot script really takes a backseat to A-list stars and broad concept. That’s somewhat understandable, given the nuances of multi-cam. So while I liked Living Biblically and Real Life, for example, I don’t think they’ll get the greenlight. On the multi-cam side, 9J/9K/9L is a likely pick-up, along with the D.L Hughley led Brothered Up getting a possible mid-season order. On the single-camera side, along with Young Sheldon, I give the edge slightly to Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices over Me, Myself, and I. When in doubt, go with the Occam’s Razor approach to network pilots — the simpler set-up and plot is more likely to be given the greenlight.
