Lucy Liu is set to star in THE SNAKEHEAD. The crime drama is set in the underground world of human smuggling and will be directed by Evan Jackson Leong. Liu has been cast as a Chinese immigrant who arrives penniless to New York City’s Chinatown until she joins the ranks of Snakeheads, a powerful gang of human smugglers who prey on the hopes of immigrants who pay a high price to be a part of the American dream.
Liu is known for her kick ass roles in franchises like Kill Bill and Charlie’s Angels, as well as the films like Lucky Number Slevin and The Man with the Iron Fists. She is also known for her voice roles in Kung Fu Panda and The Tale of Princess Kaguya. Liu currently stars as Joan Watson on the CBS procedural Elementary.
