{Things We Love} Kate McKinnon And Kumail Nanjiani’s “Carol” Spoof Is The Best

Everyone is still buzzing about the Academy Awards, Leo’s win, Sam Smith’s speech snafu, the Girl Scout cookies, and most of all, host Chris Rock. But there was another award ceremony that happened a day before the Oscars called the Independent Spirit Awards. It’s indie, casual, a little more hip, and, let’s be honest — a lot less stuffy. Saturday Night Live‘s Kate McKinnon and Silicon Valley‘s Kumail Nanjiani hosted and like Rock, they took to skewering Hollywood diversity in their opening monologue. But the highlight of the evening was this spoof of Carol with Wanda Sykes and Jane Lynch. If you don’t love Kate and Kumail after this, then I don’t know what to tell you.
