{THINGS WE LOVE} Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer – The George Lucas Edition

It’s nothing new that the, er, changes made to the original Star Wars trilogy were – and continue to be – much derided by just about everyone who’d seen the films before George Lucas got his hands back on them. Lucas claimed that his added touches to the films – made twenty years after their first theatrical showings – were meant to bring the movies closer to his original vision of the Star Wars universe. But cleaning and restoring of the negatives is one thing; throwing a crap-ton of fancy new CGI into scenes were it wasn’t needed in the first place is something else all together. And never forgot the controversy that popped up over “Han shot first.”

Given this, it’s really not surprising that one enterprising fan took every opportunity to poke a little fun at Lucas’ penchant for post-release insertion for the upcoming and long-awaited sequel, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.  You’ll have to decide for yourself if he really captured the essence of Lucas.
