Third TIme’s The Charm For “Thin Man” Remake

After parting ways with writers David Koepp and Jerry Stahl due to creative differences, Warner Bros. and director Rob Marshall have hired their third choice, , to pen the script for remake, starring Johnny Depp. The original 1934 film starring William Powell and Myrna Loy was so well received, it spawned five sequels and a television series on NBC. Based on the 1934 novel by Dashiell Hammett, the story follows former private detective Nick Charles who returns to his craft with his socialite wife to investigate a murder involving an investor and his bizarre family.

The remake will incorporate elements from the original film and its first sequel. Depp will produce via his Infinitum Nihil banner and producing partner Christi Dembrowski. Kevin McCormick is also on board to produce with Marshall and John DeLuca.
