Thomas Kretschmann has joined the cast of THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, alongside Robert Downey Jr., James Spader, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He will reportedly play a secondary villain role, which some are claiming will be Wolfgang von Strucker, the head of HYDRA. Think nazis using occult or tech for their world domination schemes, which I guess is the same as normal nazis.
Joss Whedon will direct from his own script. Kevin Feige will produce.
Kretschmann is best known for “Wanted” and Peter Jackson’s “King Kong.” Depending on what side of the globe you’re on he can be seen in the Russian film “Stalingrad,” and he’ll possibly be seen next in the reboot pilot for “The Saint.”
He is repped by APA.
