Three-time Launch Pad Alum John Wikstrom has become the latest writer to find representation after first finding success in the Launch Pad competitions. As his new spec AMA: ASK ME ANYTHING is heating up around town, John has signed with David Boxerbaum, Nicholas Mohebbi and Kyle Jensen at Verve, Rock Shaink and Dash Aiken at Romark Entertainment and Jake Wagner and Scott Stoops at Good Fear Film + Management.
John reached the Top 50 of the Features Competition three years in a row, first with his comedy MANSHOWER placing in the Top 50 of the 2015 competition. He followed that up with JESSE’S GIRL, a coming-of-age comedy that was named to the Top 25 of the 2016 competition and chosen as the Twin Padres Guaranteed Option winner. Just last year, he reached the Top 25 again with his family adventure script THE HATCHLING.
Originally from Florida, John graduated from the Film School at Florida State after winning a Student Emmy for one of his shorts. John’s commercials and internet-friendly short films have been an official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival and Vimeo Staff Picks, among others. Online, his spots have been written about in the Huffington Post, Mashable, CNN, Esquire, Nerdist, and Adweek. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
With this signing, John joins over 370 writers who have found representation through the Launch Pad Competitions since they began in 2013.
