Through It All John Magaro Remains “Unbroken”

has joined the cast of alongside Jack O’Connell, Domhnall Gleeson and Garrett Hedlund. The project follows the true story of Louis Zamperini (O’Connell), a former Olympian, and his two crewmates when their plane crashes at sea during World War II and floats adrift for 47 days until capture and sent to a POW camp by the Japanese Navy. Magaro will play Frank A. Tinker, an Air Force pilot and opera singer who befriends Zamperini during the long trek to a Japanese POW camp.

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen (aka Coen Hivemind) wrote the latest draft of the script that Angelina Jolie will direct. Producing will be Mick Garris, Matthew Baer and Erwin Stoff.

Magaro was last seen in David Chase’s “Not Fade Away” and “Deep Powder.”
