Brenton Thwaites is Robin in the first photo released from TITANS, Greg Berlanti’s new DC superhero team-up series set to premiere on the company’s own streaming service next year.
See above for the photo of the actor as the Boy Wonder. The superhero suit was designed by renowned costume designer Laura Jean Shannon, who also designed the Black Lightning suit for Berlanti’s other new superhero series, premiering on The CW in January.
Titans, from Warner Bros. TV, is set to bow in 2018 as part of a new DC-centric direct-to-consumer digital service from the WB.
The show follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. Thwaites stars as Dick Grayson who emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven, Hawk, and Dove. Anna Diop will play Starfire, Teagan Croft has been cast as Raven and Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly will play the superhero duo Hawk and Dove. Ryan Potter is also part of the team as Beast Boy.
The pilot was penned by Akiva Goldsman, Berlanti, and DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns. Berlanti, Goldsman, Johns, and Sarah Schechter are producing.
