TNT “Snowpiercer” Series Loses Showrunner Josh Friedman



TNT’s adaptation of has lost its original showrunner , Tracking Board has confirmed.

Sources say the writer/producer, who wrote the pilot episode, left the show due to creative differences.

Jennifer Connolly and Daveed Diggs will star in the version of the post-apocalyptic sci-film film, which starred Chris Evans, Octavia Spencer, Tilda Swinton and others. TNT picked up the project to series earlier this month.

Set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation.

Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Lena Hall round out the ensemble cast.

Friedman wrote the pilot, which was directed by Scott Derrickson. Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and the original film’s Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi all serve as executive producers.

No replacement for Friedman has been named yet.
