Toby Kebbell is in talks to join MGM and Paramount’s BEN-HUR. He joins the recently cast Jack Huston, who will star as Ben-Hur, a rich Jewish prince whose journey takes him into the life of a slave and an eventual meeting with Jesus Christ. Kebbell would play Messala, the one time friend of Ben-Hur who sentences him to the galleys. Morgan Freeman has been cast as Ildarin, the man who teaches Ben-Hur how to be a chariot racer.
Brit Kebbell has quite a name for himself across the pond, appearing in big budget films like “Prince of Persia,” “War Horse,” and “Wrath of the Titans.” Kebbell also played a villain in this year’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and will play the archnemsis Doctor Doom in Josh Trank’s “Fantastic Four.”
Kebbell is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group.
