Tom Hiddleston Joins Eddie Redmayne for “Early Man”

Animated comedy EARLY MAN has added . He joins previously cast Eddie Redmayne. The film marks Oscar-winner Nick Park’s first animated feature in over ten years.

The film is set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, and tells the story of Dug and his sidekick Hognob as they unite the tribe against the might Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game. Hiddleston will voice the governor of the Bronze Age town, Lord Nooth, who is a money-loving tyrant and rival to Redmayne’s Dug.

The project is currently shooting in Bristol and is fully financed by StudioCanal, who will distribute in UK, France, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. They’ll be taking Early Man to AFM to find a US distributor.

It will be a return to animation for Hiddleston, who previously lent his voice to Disney’s Pirate Fairy as a young Captain Hook. He was most recently seen in the critically acclaimed The Night Manager from Susanne Bier, and is currently filming the anticipated Marvel sequel Thor: Ragnarok as the villainous Loki.
