Tommy Lee Jones, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Yeoh have all joined Jason Statham in MECHANIC: RESURRECTION. The action seqel centers on The Mechanic, a hitman who is forced to complete a list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world to save the woman he loves. Dennis Gansel is directing using a script penned by William Chartoff, Frank DeMartini, and David Winkle.
Jones has appeared in some very different roles lately, starring in romantic comedies like Hope Springs, in historical biopics like Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, and crime thrillers like Luc Besson’s The Family. Most recently, Jones wrote, directed, and starred in the western The Homesman with Hilary Swank. Next up, Jones is set to star opposite Kevin Costner in Ariel Vromen’s crime drama Criminal.
Alba’s most recent credits include Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Joe Carnahan’s action comedy thriller Stretch, and Tom Vaughan’s rom-com How to Make Love Like an Englishman. Her upcoming projects include the horror flick The Veil, action comedy Barely Lethal, and Kevin Connolly’s drama Dear Eleanor along with Josh Lucas and Luke Wilson.
Yeoh is known for her roles in the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Rob Marshall’s Memoirs of a Geisha. More recently, Yeoh has appeared in Babylon A.D. and Kung Fu Panda 2. Next up, Yeoh is set to appear in the sequel Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend.
