Tony Shalhoub Returns to TV With “Nurse Jackie”

Former supersleuth comes back to TV as a recurring character on the upcoming seventh season of . The Showtime series, starring Edie Falco as a drug addicted City nurse with questionable practices, both at work and in her personal life. Shalhoub has been cast as Dr. Bernard Prince, a new ER doctor who has a special touch with Gloria Akalitus and is friends with Jackie.

Shalhoub has had a long career on the small screen, having starred in dramedy “Wings” before going on to his most well known role as the OCD detective on “Monk.” He also recently starred on the short-lived CBS comedy “We Are Men.” More recently, the Wisconsin native played Victor Kershaw in “Pain & Gain” and voiced Splinter in Paramount’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
