Comedian Louis C.K. is stretching his acting muscles with a role in TRUMBO. The biopic tells the story of famed American screenwriter, Dalton Trumbo, one of the blacklisted Hollywood Ten who still won two Academy Awards while writing under a pseudonym. C.K. has been cast as Arlen Hird, a fellow screenwriter who was also blacklisted and stuck to his principles. Bryan Cranston will star as Trumbo and is joined by Diane Lane, Elle Fanning, John Goodman and Helen Mirren in the project, which Jay Roach is directing.
C.K. is best known for his stand up and for his FX comedy series “Louie,” which recently earned him an Emmy win for best writing. He also played Leslie’s love interest during his short stint on “Parks and Recreation” and made a cameo as Stoddard Thorsen in David O. Russell’s “American Hustle.” His next projects include another FX series, “Baskets” with Zach Galifianakis, as well as an untitled animated pets movie from “Despicable Me” helmer Chris Renaud.
C.K. is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment.
