Sing Street star Jack Reynor has been tapped to star in CBS All Acess’ drama series STRANGE ANGEL, from Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions. Reynor will play Jack Parsons, a smart and driven blue-collar worker in 1930’s Los Angeles who started as a custodian at a chemical factory but has fantasies that led him to birth the unknown discipline of American rocketry. In addition to Sing Street, Reynor is best known for starring in Transformers: Age of Extinction. He is represented by WME.
The Sopranos alum Annabella Sciorra has been cast in a returning role for the upcoming second season of GLOW, Netflix’s hit 1980’s female wrestling comedy. Sciorra will play Rosalie Biagi, mother to the youngest of the Glow girls. Sciorra is represented by CAA and Mainstay Entertainment.
Christian Cooke is stepping in to replace a role for the BBC One drama ORDEAL BY INNOCENCE that had already been completed by Ed Westwick. Amid sexual assault allegations against Westwick, the company decided to reshoot. Cook will be playing Mickey Argyll in the tale that sees old scars reopened for the Argyll family when a man suddenly turns up and claims that the black sheep of the family, Jack Argyll, could not have killed its tyrannical matriarch, a crime of which he was accused of one year earlier. Cooke is best known for his work in Love, Rosie, he is represented by WME.
Jimmy Jean-Louis has just been bumped up to a series regular on TNT’s CLAWS, a dark comedy about the lives of five diverse and treacherous manicurists in a south Florida Salon. The actor will return as Dr. Gregory Ruval, a love interest of Niecy Nash’s character. Jean-Louis’ work included The Heroes and Heroes Reborn. He is represented by Global Artists Agency.
Frank Langella has signed on a series regular role opposite Jim Carrey and Catherin Keener in the upcoming Showtime comedy KIDDING. The series follows Jeff (Carrey), an icon of children’s television, a ray of sunshine and kindness to America’s impressionable youth -who also runs a multimillion-dollar branding empire. Langella will play Seb, the man who raised Jeff’s show from the ground up to a multimillion-dollar empire. Langella starred in roles such as Frost/Nixon, I, Leonard: A Journey of the Mind, and The Americans. He is represented by ICM Partners and Circle of Confusion.
